Crime Scene Investigation
For this project three crime scenes were assigned to partners. My partner and I were assigned crime scene #2. The scenario was that hikers had stumbled upon a body wrapped in a tarp buried in the San Jaun National Forest. We ran many tests on the body to determine the murderer and the victim, such as hair analysis, fingerprinting, Forensics, DNA analysis and more. After all options and suspects were exhausted the case went cold.
I really enjoyed this project as it was very hands on and let us experience forensics first hand.

Dissection
The animal I dissected was a cat. While doing the dissection I learned where many of the vital organs are located and what their functions are, I learned about the liver, the gall bladder, the large and small intestines. I also learned about function and parts of the heart; I located the four chambers, the pulmonary veins and arteries, the superior and inferior vena cava, and the aortas. I also learned about the digestive system, respiratory system, circulatory system, reproductive system, the urinary system, and the brain.
Monkey Meal Planning
For this project we were required to create a recipe for either chimpanzees or monkeys. The recipes had to meet a certain criteria, it had to provide enough nutrients for the primates without going over any of their limits. The hardest part about this project was finding ingredients that would be easy to get that work in a primate's meal. My final meal was a Cesar salad for monkeys and chimps.
DNS Habitat Assessment
I overall had a good time on this project. It started with a long time spent preparing for a field trip to Durango Nature Studies. Then on the field trip we captured and I.D.ed frogs along with other types of field work like veg plots, water quality testing and macroinvertebrate collection. We then conducted a lot of data analysis and made graphs and charts for all of the data on Excel. Then we used technical writing to create a habitat assessment of DNS. Overall i am pleased with my project because i worked hard on it and spent a lot of time with it and i think it turned out well.
